Remember when it was 80 degrees in February? Well, we are paying the price now (for those of you who don’t like the cold) and we will continue to do so through the beginning of April. The GEFS ensembles are showing quite chilly air for much of the country.
A decent cold wave will hit the East Coast around March 31st, and will serve to kick off the month of April below average. The Northern Plains will freeze. Any plants that have blooms there could die.
Looking into the 8th of April, temperatures here in the East minus Florida will remain below average. Not a good idea to plant gardens just yet!
If you like warm, your outdoor plans or clothing preferences may have to be on hold. Also, any snow chances into April are not out of the question! This would mainly be in the Northeast states. Again, protect your plants and crops if they are outside!
