Winter Weather

Carolina April Snow

It’s April and we are not talking about rain, we are actually talking about snow that will make it’s way into the Carolinas. Yes, you heard that right snow has the opportunity to make it down into the Southeast this weekend. The pattern is yet again favorable for snow in the East as a strong spring polar vortex is more south then it should be this time of year.

This weekend gets really interesting across portions of the Carolinas as we could be seeing substantial snow make it down as far south as South Carolina.

Above are the temperatures for Saturday (4/7) , and look how cold they are forecasted to be. The upper 20s will make it as far south Columbia, SC! Absolutely stunning for this time of year. With these cold temperatures and energy diving south yet again, snow will make it that far south.

GFS MSLP and P-Type forĀ 18z SAT April 7th, 2018:

Wintry weather has the potential of making it down into South Carolina this weekend and if it is snow, it will be heavy accumulating snow that will make it yet again feel like winter. More details are to be sorted out over the upcoming days, but make sure you stay here with us as we get you prepared.
