A wet weekend is in store for many across the Southeast, as flooding rains will move in. As of tonight, not everybody is getting wet, however slow moving showers and embedded thunderstorms are slowly moving across the region. Any dry areas will begin to fill in on Friday and as we enter the weekend. Prepare for delays, especially on the roads and interstates. Rain will be heavy at times thus reducing visibilities. Rain will move through in batches and will not be widespread. It will be a beneficial slow soaking rain.
Saturday could be a washout depending on your location. Late afternoon Saturday looks like is when the heavier steady rains could begin according to the below futurecast radar.
This will be more of an ongoing pattern that we could be stuck in for some time. Rain and clouds will keep temperatures below normal for mid-June. NAM hi-res precip totals through this weekend:
Make sure if you use your wipers that you also use your headlights for safety! Everyone have a safe Friday and weekend!
