GFS Indicates Cool Start to June, More Severe Weather Likely


If you’re not a hot weather fan, then there is good news for you regarding the start to summer. The GFS is indicating lower than usual pressure over the eastern third of the country, and the heat will stay out West. Before the change happens, there will likely be another round of damaging thunderstorms in the East. Whenever there is warm in the West and cool in the East, the result is usually a battle zone in between the two, and that battle zone pushes east along the leading edge of the cooler air.
