Messy Weekend and Christmas Eve Ahead

A messy weekend is in store for much of the eastern half of the U.S. To the south, this next event will be all rain. Farther to the north into PA and NY, a changeover is expected from rain to snow. Accumulations might not amount to much. In New England, a wintry mix switching over to rain is now likely the case.

This all takes place Saturday into Sunday, but should be gone by lunchtime on Sunday.

AREA A – All rain Saturday into early Sunday.

AREA B – Rain changing over to snow as colder air moves in. Little to no accumulations expected except in the lake-effect regions.

AREA C – Wintry mix including ice changing over to rain, then perhaps snow at the end, little to no accumulations except in the mountains.

As for the 25th, this will be a different system. A Clipper will move in from the west and will leave a quick coating to an inch for many locations in the Northeast. This year it looks like a white Christmas!

Everyone have a safe and Merry Christmas!
