More Tropical Trouble on the Way?

We have been talking about another possible outburst of tropical activity that will yet again give the Eastern US another scare since September 18th. Now, it is October 2nd and there is a tropical disturbance in the Caribbean right now that the NHC gives a 20% chance of development over the next 5 days.

During this time of year the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico are climatologically the most active, and with a favorable upper level pattern that will induce air to lift, this development is no shock and hasn’t been a shock since September.

Another scary situation is in store for the Carolinas because if this system makes it on the East Coast there will be no escape route for it to curve out to sea, same situation as Florence. The reason being because of the monstrous Northeast ridge that is expected to build next week.

Regardless of intensity with this system, heavy rain will yet again inundate parts of the Carolinas that are continuing to recover from Florence. We will continue to keep you updated on this unfolding situation as the days go on.
