Wintry Impacts Loom for the East Coast

A combination of cold and snow will move into the Northeast this week just in time to disrupt Thanksgiving travel plans. If you or anyone you know are headed to the Northeast of Mid-Atlantic, expect travel delays Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday and Turkey Day are expected to be extremely cold days north of the VA/NC border. However, the chill could spill all the way down to Georgia.

On Tuesday a Clipper system will move in from the west and will skate across the Northeast, possibly putting down light snow amounts and disrupting travel. Boston will most likely be the highest impacted city.

Elsewhere, the very cold temperatures may cause disruptions to the power grid due to the increased demand in energy for heating. Also, some schools may lose heat due to complications from the cold.

Keep your eyes and ears tuned for the latest this week, especially if you are traveling. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
