Spring has not showed up all year, and it will not show up by the time April ends. Below average temperatures are to continue through the end of the month. This leads many people to the question, is this the year without a spring?
Across the southeast this season we have had a few bursts of spring, but overall it has been below average for the months of March and April for many. This will continue through the end of the month and it could last to begin May.

The above image is for the work week this week. Associated with the low pressure system that will be affecting the southeast today and tomorrow is a strong cold front that is going to initiate the beginning of yet another below average week for the East. That cold is going to last into next week and into the beginning of May.

The cold is to last through the end of next week and into the beginning of May. For the 5-day average, days 12-16, I believe the model is under-doing the cold air and that is because as a model run gets later in its run it begins to move back towards the climatological average. With that, the cold will be more drastic then what the image actually shows to begin May.
